nVent RAYCHEM T2Black-12 heating cable for electric floor heating with a fixed nominal power 12 W/m. It is a factory-terminated two-wire, single-sided, heating cable connected to a 2.6-m-long cold wire.

• The T2Black-12 kits are available in kits with a digital electronic thermostat NRG-DM and in versions without a thermostat.
• For easy installation, all T2Black-12 cables are factory terminated and supplied on a spool. They are packaged in a sturdy and handy package containing hot-melt adhesive for easy installation to the substrate, and a protective tube for sensor installation

Recommended installation methods:

• Under tiles - in a layer of adhesive (the heating cable should be carefully sealed without leaving "air pockets"). - we recommend to lay every 80 mm obtaining 150W/m².
• Under floor panels, vinyl panels, linoleum, wooden floor - the heating cable should be flooded with self-levelling screed 15 mm - for the mentioned floors lay max. 100 W/m².

Preparing the substrate

1. The floor should be clean, stable and rigid, without cracks or substances that reduce adhesion. Large cracks in the substrate should be filled before installation. Uneven surfaces should be leveled before installation.
2. For cement screed and anhydrite screed, make sure that the screed has dried sufficiently according to the relevant standards. The anhydrite screed should be smoothed, and dust should be removed. For quick-drying mortar, follow the supplier's instructions.
3. The heating cable should not be installed under bathtubs, shower stalls, standing furniture directly on the floor, etc. The heating cable should not be laid where holes will be drilled in the floor.

Installation instructions

1. The T2Black-12 cold wire must be routed in flexible conduit and connected in an installation box. The T2Black-12 cable must always be controlled by an electronic thermostat for underfloor heating with an external floor temperature sensor that complies with the Eco-Design Directive (e.g. NRG-DM, GREEN LEAF or SENZ-WIFI).
2. The floor temperature sensor is also laid in the protective tube (3 m long tube, included in the T2Black kit) and placed centrally, between the two runs of the heating cable, as close as possible to the final floor covering. See instructions.
3. T2Black-12 can be laid under tile and natural stone. The conduit can even be placed directly into tile adhesive (in which case make sure it is placed in an adhesive layer at least 6 mm thick), or installed directly into counter membranes and/or embedded in leveling mortar or screed.
4. T2Black-12 can be installed under parquet, laminate or laminate flooring. In this case, it should be embedded in at least a 15-millimeter layer of self-leveling screed, ensuring control by a thermostat with a floor temperature sensor set to a maximum of 27°C. The spacing between the wires should be 120 mm (this will allow to obtain a power of 100 W/m²).

In case you care about every millimeter of the floor, the solution may be to install the cable in the dirt. In other cases, we install the heating cables in the adhesive layer under the tiles.
